Are Nature’s Nurse products natural and free from nasty chemicals?

Our products contain No nasties or chemicals we consider harmful, No Parabens or other Synthetic Preservatives, No Sodium Lauryl Sulphates, No Mineral Oils, No GMO ingredients, No Animal Ingredients. Our special preservative system is unique – and approved by EcoCert-the world’s largest organic products certifier.
Since Nature’s Nurse products aren’t tested on animals, how are they tested?
When we begin developing products, we carefully select a range of ingredients which are beneficial for the problem, and which work synergistically together.
Research is carried out to ensure these ingredients have a long history of effective human use, are classified as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) and that they come from sustainable sources.
Combinations of the ingredients are tested on real people who are suffering from the condition, with their permission. For example, we tested the Rapid Recovery Herbal Sports Rub, on one leg of 45 athletes who had just completed a 33km mountain trail run over rough ground. This was a double blind survey, where neither the runners nor the Sports Massage Therapists knew which leg had the active ingredients used on it. The runners then filled in a survey telling us which leg felt better, why and what they liked or didn’t like about the product. The results were highly encouraging… After that we knew we had the right base, but we went back and tweaked the ratios for optimal results. We regularly do a similar one leg test on marathon runners – clocking up well over ten thousand endurance athletes in the last few years at events like Rotorua Marathon.
This information provides the basis to developing products that are 100% natural, very effective and help deal with all the problems a consumer may experience. Further sensory testing and stringent lab analysis for stability and preservation is carried out prior to products being available for sale.
Does Nature’s Nurse use GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) ingredients?
NO – all our ingredients are non GMO. Our suppliers fill in a questionnaire stating that the plants used have not been genetically modified.
What are the shelf lives/use by dates of Nature’s Nurse products?
All Nature’s Nurse products are made in a carefully controlled Therapeutic Goods Certified factory and have at least a 3 year shelf life. The best before date is stamped on the top crimp area of the packaging or printed on the side of bottles.
