Lice Lather Tips to make wet combing easy:
Weekly Inspection Detections:
Have the person lean over a kitchen bench or table so the back of their head is facing up. Make sure the area is brightly lit or near a window.
Working on one small section at a time comb from scalp to tip of hair.
Wipe on a paper towel or serviette after each nit comb.
If you find headlice or nit eggs, this means you will need to treat hair with Lice Lather Shampoo as soon as possible or spritz with Lice Lather Preventative Spray until you can get a treatment shampoo done.
For wet combing after Lice Lather Head Lice Treatment:
After shampooing for 5 minutes with Lice Lather Treatment Shampoo and rinsing well, towel dry hair. For most hair types you don’t need to add a conditioner as the shampoo has extra detangling ingredients, (but it’s fine if you want to).
Then gather your supplies (brush, lice comb, hair clips, bath towel for shoulders, paper towels or tissue to wipe comb, rubbish bin) and get set up for wet combing while hair is still damp.
Set up:
Put a towel over shoulders, and set up a comfortable place with good lighting and something for young children to watch or read, because wetcombing properly can take at least 15 minutes or more with long hair. But doing it well is worth it to avoid a reinfestation. Comb or gently brush hair with a regular comb to remove tangles.
Best combing process:
Simply divide damp hair into 4 to 6 sections, clip or tie up hair sections, and work on one small section at a time. Start at the scalp and run the comb through the whole length of hair.
How to get nits out of nit comb? Simply wipe comb clean with paper towel after each section, to remove dead lice and nits. They should slide out of the comb easily. Rinse comb in cup of warm water if needed.
Run comb through section of hair again to check all nit eggs and dead or dying lice are removed, especially from under side of hair where eggs often lie. Dampen hair with plain water or Lice Lather Preventative Spray if required. Then repeat until finished every hair section. Sterilise comb in hot soapy water after each use.
